Chrysanthemum morifolium sometimes shortened to 'Chrysanth', or shortened even further to 'Mum' is one of the most well known flowering perennials, being the classic "Mothers Day" Chrysanthemum.
It is vigourous and shrubby with grey green foliage on stiff, erect stalks with spectacular flower heads on top in single and double variations. Known for lots of flowers that are long lived.
Colours are many and varied though the single heads all have yellow centres.
A good friable soil is best with some added compost and good drainage. Add some blood and bone for a good on-going feed to produce best results. Prefers full sun position. Suitable for Garden Beds, Pots & Containers and requires moderate water.
If you want big blooms then pinch out the side buds leaving only the strongest ones. Cut back after flowering to promote good new season growth.
Can grow upto 40-120cm Hx 60-90cm W
