The Golden Rain Tree, is an elegant, slow-growing small tree. It has serrated, green, feathers like leaves. The branches droop at the ends creating a slight weeping effect. The foliage turns bronze to gold in autumn and is held on the tree until quite late in the season. In summer, chains of bright yellow flowers are produced, followed by lantern-like seed pods which hang from the tree in large clusters. In maturity, the grey-brown bark will develop furrows and the tree forms a rounded shape with an overall flat canopy and gnarled appearance.
These trees grow best in full sun. They are relatively drought-tolerant and perform well in most soil types. A
Excellent Shade Tree.
