Kaffir (makrut) Lime is native to Indonesia and grown world wide for its highly aromatic foliage which, along with the rind, are essential ingredients for creating the authentic flavour of Thai cuisine.
The fruit is very small and has a thick, bumpy rind which when crushed emits an intense citrus fragrance.
Prefers a full sun position in well drained soil; if growing in pots ensure a good quality potting mix is used. Water and fertilise regularly. Trees may have some thorns, particularly when young.
