The Silver Lady fern is perfect for pots, indoors, outdoors and as garden feature. Lush and fast- growing with long arching fronds, it will add a touch of the tropics to your favourite shady spot.
Plant carefully ensuring the crown of the fern is above the soil line. Will tolerate wet feet. Remove old fronds to keep plants looking fresh and avoid disease. Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks.
Protect from frost and keep moist during dry periods. Water every second day during dry periods. Ferns thrive in humid conditions.
Apply a slow release fertiliser during spring and a liquid based fertiliser every 4 weeks during the warmer months, take care to dilute your solution to half the recommended dose to avoid burn. Re-pot every 2 – 3 years to keep soil fresh and full of nutrients. The best time to pot is in the cooler months when the plant is dormant.
